  • Visa Prepaid Card for the first time in Kosovo

    Prishtina, 28 October 2009 - Raiffeisen Bank and IPKO in cooperation with Better Served Kosovo and RevEurope bring Visa Prepaid Card for the first time in Kosovo. This card can be taken by all customers including here the young people who have no bank account. The card can be ordered and top up the card in all branches and sub-branches of Raiffeisen Bank. Visa prepaid card enables the customers to transfer money within and outside Kosovo, to top up IPKO mobile minutes, to transfer money and check their balance only through an SMS. In addition to this, the customers can check their card balance statement through the e-banking service which is offered free of charge as soon as the card is activated.

    “Visa prepaid card is a great opportunity, particularly for the young people who have no bank account. By using this card, they avoid usage of cash and keep under control their budget by following their expenses through e-banking service which is offered together with the card” said Shpend Nura, Head of Product Management and Development. “The other advantage of this card is that the top up of the card is a simple and fast process and the customers can use that money immediately” added Mr. Nura.

    Visa prepaid card is also appropriate for parents. In order to avoid the usage of cash and have their children create a habit of controlling their expenses, the parents can order Visa prepaid card for their children more than 16 years old. They can top up these cards with a certain amount of money in all braches and sub-branches of Raiffeisen Bank and together with their children check the expenses by using e-banking service. Visa prepaid card is also useful for students who do not have a bank account.

    By possessing Visa prepaid card, in addition to Kosovo market, customers become part of an international market where Visa card is accepted. They can withdraw money in 1.4 million ATMs in more than 200 countries and purchase through POS and internet in millions of shops around the world.
