Raiffeisen, 20 years in Kosovo

This year, Raiffeisen Bank marks the 20th anniversary of its operation in Kosovo. The bank was named Raiffeisen in June 2003, after Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) purchased 100% of the shares of then American Bank. The total assets of the bank at that time were 95 million Euro, and the work was done under the circumstances of an economy that had just begun to revive. Today, Raiffeisen Bank has managed to become the largest bank in Kosovo in all the main financial indicators.

Raiffeisen Bank has summarized its 20 years journey in Kosovo through the slogan "Support. Responsibility. Innovation". Providing qualitative financial services to all categories of customers, both individuals and businesses, supporting their plans and ideas has enabled the Bank to have a sustainable growth over these years. This growth took place alongside the growth and success of the bank's customers as well as the continuous economic development of the country. Thus, at the end of 2022, the total assets of Raiffeisen Bank in Kosovo reached at 1.3 billion Euros.

During these years, Raiffeisen Bank has been focused on responsibility, principles of responsible banking, responsibility toward customers, other partners, and responsibility toward its employees. The responsibility toward the community has also been part of the bank’s strategy and reflected in considering the initiatives of the community partners and being their partners for more than a decade. Some of these initiatives are now well consolidated and very successful projects, such as PriFilm Festival, Chopin Piano Festival, or Atomi.

Innovation was a guiding point for Raiffeisen Bank in continuous improvement of customer services. In the last decade, Raiffeisen Bank has developed and brought to customers many sustainable digital platforms, through which various banking services and products are available. At the same time, the has maintained its branches network in the cities overall Kosovo, transforming and equipping them with digital self-service areas. This approach enabled customers to have different solutions for managing their finances, depending on how they find more comfortable.

Raiffeisen Bank in Kosovo has about 20% of the banking market in the country. Through its more than 800 employees in 37 branches in Kosovo, the bank offers services and banking products to 290,000 customers. In 2022, Raiffeisen has been rated as "Best Bank in Kosovo" by Euromoney and "Bank of the Year" by The Banker.
