Community Investments

Raiffeisen Bank is committed to supporting the community through various projects in the form of sponsorships, donations, as well as participation in various activities, including voluntary ones, which we believe reflect our values, responsibility and efforts to bring a positive impact on our community.

As part of our sustainability and ESG strategy, we are committed to supporting the community in Kosovo. This support is done by financially supporting various projects as well as through cooperation with various organizations and institutions operating in Kosovo.

Areas in which we have focused our support include education, culture, social responsibility and the environment.

Education

Education remains one of the key issues of the century. 21, and an essential element for creating a sustainable future. We aim to contribute to the development and improvement of education in Kosovo.

Culture

We support the country's cultural institutions in their initiatives and projects for the promotion of culture and art, as well as young artists in their journey towards a sustainable career.
 

Social responsibility

We undertake and support initiatives aimed at improving the social well being of the community in generally, through the financing of projects or cooperation with different organizations.

Environment

In addition to aligning our business with "green" criteria, we continue to support the initiatives and projects of
various that promote sustainability and environmental protection.

International Institute for Extraordinary Intelligence - Atomi

Atomi Institute is a non-governmental and non-profit organization which aims to identify and support children and young people with extraordinary intelligence, with different gifts and talents and at the same time create the conditions, support and special education of enabling these young talents to develop and use all the capacity for their personal development and at the same time contribute to the development of the country.

This institute was established in Kosovo in 2015 and until now, all the students attending the lower and higher secondary schools in Kosovo (grades VIII-XII) have been offered the opportunity to apply. A total of 10 cycles have been completed, where over 4,500 students have applied in the last 5 cycles. Given the importance of these activities, we continue to support Atomi for more than a decade. 

The 5th Digital Summit of the Western Balkans

The Western Balkans Digital Summit is an annual event that takes place every year in one of the Western Balkan countries and aims to help transform the region into a digital economy bringing the benefits that come from this transformation, such as faster growth economy, more jobs, and better services.

This summit has been held since 2018 in Bulgaria, while the 5th summit with
next took place in Pristina on September 21 and 22, 2022. This summit,
which we also supported, was organized by the Ministry of Economy in cooperation with other public and private institutions. The summit was attended by high-level representatives of the European Commission, representatives of the member countries of the European Union and the Western Balkans, representatives from international financial institutions, as well as many experts in the fields.

International Film Festival in Pristina - PriFilmFest

PriFest is an international festival where the newest films of various categories, local and international, are shown and the same, in addition to the artistic community, representatives of institutions and well-known public figures, is attended by many citizens. The purpose of the festival is to promote Kosovar cinematography, bringing international films to Kosovo, as well as interaction and cooperation between Kosovar and international artists. The festival also includes various awards such as: the best actors, the best producers and the best films.

The festival was founded in 2008 by the well-known artist Vjosa Berisha. Since then, PriFest is organized every year in Pristina and continues to be one of the most important cultural events in Kosovo. This is one of the projects that we have supported since its establishment and continue to support today.

Chopin Piano FEST Prishtina

Chopin Piano FEST Prishtina is a music festival of classical music in which prominent local and international pianists interpret the works of well-known composers. As a result of the successes and accolades received by many art lovers, as well as the growing number of interested parties, this festival has turned into a traditional festival which is now organized every year in the capital.

The festival was organized for the first time in 2010 by the Chopin Society of Kosovo, which is also a member of the International Federation of Chopin Societies, part of UNESCO. For 12 years in a row, the festival has contributed to the promotion of local pianists and local culture in general, and has been a bridge for promoting cooperation with prominent pianists from the region and the world. We are already a traditional sponsor of the Chopin Festival and continue to support it since its foundation.

AMC Foundation "Action for Mothers and Children"

The "Action for Mothers and Children - AMC" foundation was established in 2013 in Kosovo with the mission to contribute to improving the health of babies, mothers and children in Kosovo. We have collaborated with AMC in several projects: such as the establishment of women's health resource centers, the provision of medical equipment and other relevant equipment for the Clinic of Neonatology in Pristina, as well as the support of initiatives and initiatives to support pregnant women during the pandemic.

In 2016, we supported the opening of the "Teshavesha" store in Pristina and then in Ferizaj. This initiative aims to raise funds to support health programs through the collection and sale of used clothes, donated by citizens or organizations. Recently, the group of volunteers of the Raiffeisen Bank in Kosovo has sent the uniforms of the bank's employees to 'teshavesha'.

"A bag for you"

Since 2019, the project "A bag for you" continues to be implemented, which was initiated by us and is carried out in cooperation with "CEE Stepic Charity" and UNICEF in Kosovo. The project includes the distribution of about 500 school bags with relevant school materials for children belonging to families receiving social support. The distribution of the bags is done every year by volunteer employees of the bank. Until now, the project has been implemented in the Municipality of Pristina, Prizren, Gjilan and Mitrovica, while it will continue to cover other municipalities every year.

Since this is a project that includes many schools and requires coordination with many parties, we want to emphasize and appreciate the readiness, cooperation, and support that the representatives of the Directorates of Education and schools in the respective municipalities have offered us throughout the preparation period. and implementation of this donation project

For our bank, it is very important to act responsibly towards society and respect the basic values and principles such as providing support to others, solidarity and sustainability. To provide this opportunity within the organization, in 2019, we have created the group of volunteers which aims to enable our employees to participate and contribute to various activities.

Cooperation and partnership with the various institutions and organizations operating in Kosovo is very important for us because it allows us to join their efforts to push forward many issues related to the promotion of children's rights, women's rights , the importance of creating a family-friendly environment in the workplace, promoting the rights of people with disabilities, green transformation of businesses, which are very important and contribute to the sustainable development of the country
