Raiffeisen Bank reappointed as Payout Agent Bank by the Deposit Insurance Fund of Kosova

Raiffeisen Bank in Kosova has once again been selected by the Deposit Insurance Fund of Kosovo (DIFK) to serve as a Paying Agent Bank (PAB).

A PAB refers to a DIFK member bank appointed to carry out the compensation process on behalf of the DIFK, acting as its paying agent in the event of the license revocation of any member bank.

The continuation of this mandate reflects the DIFK’s recognition of our bank’s stability and its strong operational and professional capacities in fulfilling this role.

The three-year agreement was signed by the bank’s Executive Director, Ms. Anita Kovacic, and Ms. Shqipe Devaja, Managing Director of the DIFK.

CEO Kovacic expressed her gratitude to the DIFK for its continued trust and cooperation.

“The reconfirmation of this mandate reflects strong confidence in our capacities to act efficiently in the moments that matter most. As the largest bank in the country, we remain committed to fulfilling this role with dedication and contributing to the stability of Kosova’s financial system.”

On her part, Ms. Devaja expressed her gratitude to Ms. Anita Kovacic for the ongoing cooperation and welcomed the signing of the agreement.

She highlighted that, in line with international best practices for strengthening operational readiness, DIFK selects one of its member banks every three years to act as its payout agent bank, if needed, for the compensation of depositors in case of an insured event.

She noted that this agreement further strengthens inter-institutional cooperation to enhance depositor protection.

As a payout agent, our bank will also take part in regular simulation exercises and training, with the aim of strengthening operational readiness to carry out the compensation of depositors, should such a need ever arise, in fulfilling the mandate of the DIFK.

Raiffeisen Bank began its operations in Kosovo in 2003 and is the largest bank in the country.
