Artificial intelligence scams: How to recognize and protect yourself
Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the banking industry and many other sectors. However, unfortunately, it is also being used by fraudsters to create more sophisticated attacks.
Artificial intelligence (AI) scams
These scams are more convincing, more personalized, and harder to detect.
How is AI used in scams?
Cloned voice phone calls (deepfake)
Fraudsters use technology to imitate the voice of bank representatives or even family members to request urgent money transfers or to obtain confidential information.
Professional and personalized phishing emails
AI can generate messages without spelling mistakes, using a professional tone and personalized content based on your profile.

Why are they more dangerous?
- They look and sound legitimate
- They do not contain obvious mistakes
- They use real information to appear convincing
- They create a sense of urgency
How to protect yourself from AI scams?
